I'm an Egyptian theatre maker, director, and producer. I've previously collaborated with MENA and EU artists including David Greig, Lucien Bourjeily, Adham Hafez and Nassim Souleimanpour. My recent directing credits include Triangles Are My Favorite Shape, which premiered at the at the Falaki Theatre in Cairo, Haneen by Sara Shaarawi + Henry Bell and Midnight Music From The Orient, developed through the engine room department at the National Theatre of Scotland.
As a performer, I was last seen in Bourjeily's 66 Minutes in Damascus which premiered at the London International Festival of Theatre and in Souleimanpour's critically acclaimed one-man show BLANK at The Dancing on The Edge Festival in Utrecht and Amsterdam.
As a producer, I've worked with the Adham Hafez Company on tours taking place in Berlin (Return To Sender Festival), Amsterdam (Dancing on The Edge Festival) and New York City (New York Live Arts) I am a part-time lecturer at the School of Performing and Visual Art at American University in Cairo.
I hold an MA in Text & Performance from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and I am the recipient of the Arts Council England's Exceptional Talent visa. I currently live and work between London and Glasgow.
